The Top 5 HR Articles of October 2016

It has been a very interesting journey for me to write two blog posts a week for the last month.

In order to craft a good blog post, it is also essential to keep reading and know what some trending topics in the media are. I ended up reading many articles and learning a lot from them as well. This is why I have decided to post up an article monthly – listing the top 5 articles from the previous month. In this post, I will be going through the top 5 favourite articles I have chosen for October 2016.

I am sure all companies face this problem at some point in time. The way a company has designed their hiring process will determine whether they attract the right or the wrong applicants. In the article, there are three different reasons that companies attract the wrong applicants as well as solutions on how the companies can tackle these problems effectively.

There is a really thought-provoking point which is how choosing the wrong ATS provider (or none at all) increases your risk for hiring the wrong applicants. The applicant tracking system should be user-friendly and encourage job applicants to apply. This will help to promote a better candidate experience for the job applicants as well.

This article talks about how employer branding is not only useful for recruitment marketing, but it also promotes effective organisational leadership. A survey was conducted, and there were four areas that stood out as important for companies to focus on: targeting the right talent, standing out from the crowd, delivering your promises, and confronting the facts.
